I am from Kerala and studying in New Zealand now. Please find my recipe that I follow for last 2-3 months with slight variations each time for taste.
1 grab chick peas
1 grab kidney beans
1 grab mung dal
1/2 glass brown rice
1 chicken breast/fish slice
turmeric powder, coriander powder, chili powder, chicken/fish masala
Served with broccoli, carrot and curd salad.
